This trip is about deepening empathy and exchanging ideas, cultural practices and customs.
We invite students to deepen their understanding of social change in a global setting-- particularly issues of women’s leadership, health care, education and community development. The goal of the program is to share resources, learn by experience, and explore issues as they are lived, which is not always consistent with how they are reported. Zambia is the ideal center to explore themes of feminism, sustainability and development in contemporary Africa. Students will develop a great network of allies, a vast collection of resources, and perhaps most paramount an exposure to problems and solutions and how we can individually and collective be a part of that human chain of positive change.
