English

The Subject Test in Literature is available to students who have a high level of verbal ability and sensitivity to language.
Those who have performed well in English courses and have a strong working knowledge of basic literary terminology ("tone," "narrator," "stanza," etc.) are likely to show good results on this test. It is less demanding than the AP Literature exam. Interested students should plan to take this test (SAT Literature) in the spring of the junior year or the fall of the senior year. Questions should be directed to the English department chair.
