Although the Tigers played well for the majority of the match, the team fell just short to a strong Hackley team by a score of 2-0.
In the first half Trinity played their best soccer to date, stringing passes through the midfield and creating dangerous chances. Perhaps the best opportunity of the half was when Owen Kaye-Kauderer received the ball at the top of the box, dribbled past two defenders and ripped a shot that was just blocked by a recovering Hackley player.
With both teams unable to score in the first period of play, the second half began with both teams fighting hard to be the first break through.
Unlike the first half, where Trinity appeared to be the stronger side, this half began more evenly. Eventually Hackley would start to take control, and were unlucky to hit a few crossbars.
Finally, with 12 minutes remaining, a Hackley forward found himself all alone on the far side of play. He received a ball, took a touch, and placed it neatly to the near post to take the lead.
Just 7 minutes later, Hackley would add another goal to take a commanding lead. A through ball beat the back line, allowing the forward to collect the ball and drive it into the upper left corner from only a few yards out. The game ended as a 2-0 score, with Hackley on top.
