Trinity ease by Poly Prep

W W
The Trinity girls JV soccer team came away from Poly Prep with a convincing 4-0 win to move to 6-2-2 overall on the season. Despite Trinity's first half dominance they would control possession and play some great intricate passing plays but would be unable to find the net as many of the shots were just off target or a good save was made by the Poly goalkeeper. The second half played out in the same fashion as the first and it seemed like only a matter of time until Trinity scored the game's opening goal. Trinity's opening goal came with around ten minutes into the first half, albeit with a large degree of luck, as the Poly goalkeeper allowed the ball to squirm through her legs as she fell on the ball. Alison Obstler would gratefully tap the ball into the empty net as the goalkeeper and Poly defense looked on helplessly. Trinity continued to press forward at will to add to the score. Unlike the first goal, there was nothing fortunate about Trinity's second goal as Chloe Golfinos dribbled her defender on the left wing and delivered a beautiful ball across the box for Kate Thomas to shoot high into the net from a tight angle for her first goal of the season. Trinity weren't finished there and another slick passing move that started with Aniqa Rahman playing a one time pass for Caroline Wilson who in turn would play in Chloe Golfinos to shoot past the helpless Poly goalkeeper with a strong drive. Trinity's final goal came when Chloe Golfinos would score her second goal of the game when she was played in by a well weighted through ball by Manoela Saldanha and would slot the ball home for the final goal of the game.

It was a well deserved win for Trinity as they dominated in every area of the field. Strong, aggressive defending coupled with intelligent possession made for a comfortable result at the final whistle.

Trinity concludes its impressive season with back-to-back games at home to Hackley on Wednesday and away to Riverdale on Thursday.
