In conjunction with their reading of Wonder and Rules, 4th graders began their year-long partnership with students at the Manhattan Children’s Center, a school just one block from Trinity for children with autism spectrum disorder.

“I learned that I have more in common with kids with autism than I thought.” – Jacqueline

“I enjoyed the trip. I now have a better idea of what it’s like to have autism and know that people with autism have a lot in common with us because we all have challenges to overcome.” – Charlotte

“I wonder if any of the kids that were buddied with us might have thought about how we felt meeting them for the first time.” – Helena

“I learned the kids aren’t that different than us in ways. I mean, they probably do a lot of the stuff we do; they’re kids too.” – Sawyer
